Commercial Catering Equipment for UK Hotels and Restaurants: Planning Your GRACE Project

GRACE / UK HOTEL & RESTAURANT PROJECTS
What to prepare before ordering: the menu, measured layout, equipment schedule and site information that turn a product enquiry into a coordinated kitchen project.

A hotel breakfast kitchen, a restaurant with rooms and a busy restaurant cookline need different equipment packages. Before choosing appliances, establish what the team will prepare, how service will run and what the building can accommodate.
GRACE is a commercial kitchen equipment manufacturer in China, supporting overseas hospitality projects with kitchen design, equipment supply, bespoke stainless-steel fabrication and on-site installation services. For a UK project, we develop the equipment package around your brief and agree the installation scope and responsibilities with your project team.
This guide sets out the information to share with GRACE before manufacture and dispatch, whether you are opening a venue, refurbishing an existing kitchen or replacing part of a cooking line.
01 / START WITH SERVICE
Give your catering equipment manufacturer a practical brief
A floor plan tells us where the walls are. Your menu and service pattern explain what needs to happen between them. Share the busiest service period, the dishes cooked to order and the preparation completed before guests arrive.
| Information to send | Why it changes the equipment package |
|---|---|
| Venue type and location | A hotel, pub kitchen, restaurant with rooms or standalone restaurant has different storage, cooking and service demands. Include the town and delivery postcode. |
| Menu and peak dining covers | Identify simultaneous cooking tasks, batch preparation, chilled storage and the expected return of used crockery. Separate breakfast, lunch, dinner and events where relevant. |
| Measured floor plan and site photographs | Show doors, columns, levels, ceiling restrictions, existing equipment and the proposed position of the pass. |
| Utilities and opening programme | Provide available electrical capacity, gas details where applicable, water and drainage positions, extraction information and the target opening date. |
For a refurbishment, identify which appliances will remain. Include their dimensions and connections, and tell us whether the venue plans to continue trading during the work. This helps the team discuss a replacement sequence before finalising the equipment list.
02 / MAKE THE PLAN BUILDABLE
Connect the kitchen design to equipment and service drawings
The layout should connect receiving, storage, preparation, cooking, the pass and washing. Review staff movement, appliance door openings and access for cleaning and maintenance with your chef and project team.
GRACE can prepare a numbered equipment layout and supporting service information. A 3D view helps the buyer discuss the arrangement; the layout and connection schedule give the installation team the dimensions and interfaces they need to coordinate.

The North Macedonia project drawings above show three separate deliverables: equipment positions, electrical points, and water and drainage positions. For your UK project, confirm the agreed drawing revision before manufacture and ensure the final service requirements match the selected models.
For a hotel project, consider support areas as well as the main cookline. Our Hotel Capri Sitges project in Spain brings together kitchen planning, original 3D designs, bar support and site photographs.
03 / DEFINE WHAT WILL BE SUPPLIED
Build an equipment schedule that your site team can use
Give each appliance and fabricated item a reference number that matches the plan. The schedule should identify the model or fabrication drawing, quantity, dimensions, utility connections and installation clearances. Record any existing equipment separately so everyone can see the supply scope.
Оборудование для приготовления пищи
Select ranges, griddles, fryers, ovens and holding equipment around the menu and peak service. Compare usable cooking space, batch size, recovery between batches and cleaning access. For electrical equipment, confirm the precise voltage, frequency, phase and connected load with your installer. For gas appliances, confirm the intended gas and connection details before specifying the model.
Refrigeration and warewashing
Plan storage around purchasing and preparation routines. Check door swings, ventilation space and access to service panels. For dishwashing and glasswashing, discuss the busiest return period, rack sizes, incoming water and drainage, together with space for dirty landing and clean storage.
Bespoke stainless-steel fabrication
Benches, sinks, shelves and cupboards should fit the room and the work carried out there. Confirm material specifications by component, overall dimensions, upstands, cut-outs and support positions. GRACE’s stainless-steel fabrication range provides a starting point for discussing these items alongside the cooking and refrigeration package.
Ask for model-specific technical information and the documents applicable to your installation. Discuss these with the responsible UK project professionals before confirming the order.
04 / COORDINATE FACTORY AND SITE
Agree delivery, installation and handover before dispatch
A complete equipment order needs an agreed route into the building. Measure unloading access, clear door openings, corridors, tight turns, lifts and changes of level. Compare these with both packed dimensions and the dimensions of the equipment itself. Where necessary, discuss sectional fabrication and the installation sequence.
Record responsibilities for unloading, moving equipment into position, assembly, utility connections, ventilation, testing and handover. GRACE offers on-site installation services; the project scope and programme should be agreed alongside the work of your local contractors.
For gas-fired equipment, bring the appropriate local gas professional into the discussion early. The UK Health and Safety Executive publishes gas safety guidance for catering and hospitality, covering safe use and maintenance. Use this with the advice of the professionals responsible for your site.
Before opening, arrange an equipment handover pack with the final model list, operating and cleaning information, relevant drawings and an agreed spare-parts and service contact route. Clarify what support is included and how replacement parts will reach the venue.
05 / LOOK AT THE EVIDENCE
European projects that support a practical equipment discussion
Project photographs and drawings are useful when they show what was designed, supplied or seen on site. GRACE’s European project overview includes Spain, Malta and North Macedonia, with the location and type of each image identified.

Malta: customer feedback after four years of use
Our Malta customer shared the cooking-line photograph below after four years of using the GRACE equipment. The accompanying customer message says, “We are happy with your products.” This is a follow-up from one restaurant and a useful reference when discussing equipment care and ongoing support.

A UK venue reference
Наши Boath House page in Scotland presents the restaurant-with-rooms setting and planning considerations for this type of property. Its venue photographs and GRACE design references are identified separately. For equipment layouts and installation photographs, explore the Spain case and wider European overview linked above.
Questions to resolve before ordering
Can I discuss the project with GRACE in English?
Yes. Send your enquiry in English, together with the measured plan, menu, venue location and target opening date. We can discuss the proposed equipment package and the information your project team needs.
Can GRACE work from an existing kitchen layout?
Yes. Share the latest drawing and mark any fixed equipment, confirmed utility points and proposed changes. We can review the equipment selection and fabrication requirements against that brief.
Can I order a cooking line rather than a whole kitchen?
Discuss the replacement or new cooking-line scope with us. Provide the available footprint, menu, existing canopy and utilities so the selected appliances can be coordinated with the surrounding kitchen.
What should I confirm about after-sales support?
Agree the operating documents, spare-parts list, contact route and service responsibilities for your selected models before ordering. Include any local installation or servicing arrangements in the project scope.
