Relax Residence Guesthouse Kitchen Project in Maldives
Relax Residence · Thoddoo, Alif Alif Atoll
A compact kitchen brief for island hospitality: daily meals, practical refrigeration and equipment that is straightforward to maintain.
Project type: Guesthouse kitchenProperty scale: 14 roomsLocation: Thoddoo, Maldives
Relax Residence is a 14-room guesthouse in the centre of Thoddoo, in the Maldives’ Alif Alif Atoll. Its on-site restaurant serves breakfast and dinner, with room service and packed breakfasts or lunches also available. This creates a clear kitchen brief: support several meal formats within a manageable working space.
02 / MALDIVES KITCHEN PRIORITIES
Equipment choices shaped by island conditions
The Maldives has a warm, humid climate throughout the year. For a guesthouse kitchen, refrigeration, surface care and the electrical load belong in the equipment discussion from the start.
Give refrigeration room to work
Choose refrigeration for the kitchen’s operating ambient temperature and peak ingredient load. Keep condenser air paths clear, separate the cabinet from cooking heat and leave access for cleaning coils and inspecting door seals.
Specify the steel and the finish
For indoor preparation areas, specify the SUS304 worktable option, smooth finishes and easy-to-clean joints. Assess salt exposure at open windows and external service areas when selecting the grade. Include fresh-water cleaning and thorough drying in the care routine.
Keep cooking compact and connected
A single induction hob and a small griddle suit a compact breakfast station. Build the electrical schedule around each appliance’s rated load and simultaneous use; place outlets and service connections where technicians can reach them.
03 / LAYOUT & DESIGN
A short route from ingredients to service
For breakfast, dinner and packed meals, GRACE’s kitchen layout service places chilled ingredients beside preparation, then connects cooking to plating and packing. Returned tableware follows a separate route to wash-up. Custom stainless steel fabrication adapts benches, sinks and shelves to the room while preserving working aisles.
04 / EQUIPMENT OPTIONS
Four equipment options for a compact kitchen
A focused selection for chilled preparation, breakfast cooking and a practical work surface.

Plan the island delivery before dispatch
Equipment needs to fit the receiving route as well as the kitchen. GRACE can coordinate packing dimensions, moisture protection, crate identification and an unpacking sequence for the island handover. Service access, operating instructions and a model-specific spare-parts list are included in the planning discussion, helping the local team prepare for upkeep.
Our hospitality project portfolio includes Holiday Inn in Tanzania and Gateway Hotel in Papua New Guinea. We bring layout design, equipment selection, stainless fabrication and installation guidance together for hotel and guesthouse kitchens.
